With so much BS going on with SOME police officers.. It would be advisable to watch this video and learn something!
Maine State Police are most certainly the finest police force in the U.S. They are very well disciplined and few are chosen to become a Trooper. The standards for becoming a Maine State Trooper don't just involve knowing and abiding the law.. Even if you ace the textbook tests.. You can still fail.
To become a Maine State Trooper, you have to be capable of not only dealing with the situation by law, BUT.. You HAVE to be able to react in a very human and common sense way.
I've had personal experience with a few myself in my younger years.. Despite the severity of my idiotic ways (all driving offenses), they were always much more kind and personal than any other officer from any other agency I have dealt with. (Yeah, I was a trouble maker in my car in my younger years)
Now, I work together with them and many other agencies when a utility pole is struck or I witness an accident. They are all still very laid back... They don't put up with any shit.. BUT.. They treat you with the utmost respect .. Even if you don't.
This is an older video (1992), but it's very much the same today! I love these guys! Their interpersonal skills are unmatched by any.
(You may have seen this video on one of those "World's Wildest.." TV shows.. This is what police officers should be like.)
