Syrian Army fires-off furious artillery barrage onto militant strongholds in north Hama amid new Islamist offensive

Recently various rebel groups combined ranks to launch a revenge offensive (code-named 'Anger for [East] Ghouta') against the Syrian Army in Hama province's northern countryside. The main blow of the insurgent operation has fallen on Syrian Army defenses around the frontline towns of Buraydij, Magha'ir and Al-Hamamiyat - it is believed that militant groups are attempting to cut-off and capture Kernaz, a key government stronghold in north Hama. Whilst fending off the ongoing Islamist assault, the Syrian Army has issued a powerful counter-strike with artillery fire against three nearby militant stronghold - Al-Latamenah, Kafr Zita and Morek.
