Opposition journalist and chief redactor of main opposition site STRANA.UA Igor Guzhva fled Ukraine and asked for political asylum in Austria. He was able to leave Ukraine because General Procurer forgot to request court to prolong his travel restriction. Guzhva has being persecuted by Ukrainian authorities for his journalistic work and critique of current pro-American government and have received public death threats from Ukrainian politicians and government officials. After pro-American government coup in 2014, several opposition journalists have being killed, others have being imprisoned and media critical to new government have being closed under pretext of being "unpatriotic".
