The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has begun advancing towards the Syrian-Iraqi border, reaching the southern outskirts of the city of Mayadin, on Monday.
Reportedly, the main obstacles along the route, in Abu Kamal city, have been laid out mines and unexpected suicide bombings by the militants of the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS; formerly ISIS/ISIL).
