A plumber with the surname Wu helped prevent a water supply disruption, which would have affected up to 100,000 people in Shiyan, central China's Hubei Province. In a bid to prevent flooding on Sunday, the plumber jumped into a well to fix a broken water pipe. It took him about 30 minutes to close the branch pipe, ensuring that the main pipe didn't need to be closed. Closing the main pipe would have cut off water supplies. At the time of his heroic act, the temperature of water in the well was only about eight degrees and it was raining at the time. Wu didn't reveal his first name but it's alright, as many have taken to calling him a hero.
