Two powerful bombings have rocked the Syrian capital Damascus, leaving scores of civilians dead. At least forty six people lost their lives when several passenger buses, carrying mainly Iraqi Shia pilgrims, were targeted in the Damascus Old City. More than one hundred and twenty people were also wounded. The first explosion happened after a roadside bomb went off, hitting one of the buses. Shortly after, a bomber blew himself up in the area that houses many Shia mausoleums. Some of the victims say they were finished with the visit when the attack happened.
